WHO IS PASTOR CATHY?
I was born on January 9, 1954 to parents of Scandinavian heritage who
were hard working farmers. I was baptized into the Lutheran faith on
February 28,1954 and have remained a lutheran all my life.
It was at my confirmation interview where my pastor asked my what I
wanted to do when I grew up. I told him that I wanted to be ordained just
like him.Of course in 1969 the Lutheran church had not begun to ordain
women yet. (it happened the very next year) So he told me to consider
being a Deaconess. Well, I took him at his word but never forgot the call
on my life. Professionally I was trained as a nurse (LPN) first then as a
photographer. Both being very service and people oriented positions.
To this day I continue to own my own photography company with my
husband for the last 16 years. The call on my life to Pastoral Ministry has
never dimmed.
I am married with two grown sons; Jeremy 30 who is married and has 2
children (ages 13 & 11) and Dustin 27 who is also married.
My statement of faith is simple: I believe thatJesus Christ is my savior;
that he died on Calvery and rose for my sake. I believe that my eternal
home is with him in heaven and that even as a sinner, I have been
forgiven. While here on earth, God has a plan for my life and I have His
mission to complete. It is my responsibility as His daughter to share Him
with all people.
